A motor park tout, Alex Areji on Thursday appeared before an
Aso Pada Grade 1 Area Court, in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, for allegedly biting
off the lower lip of a taxi driver.
The accused is facing a one-count charge of causing grievous hurt.
According to the prosecutor, Friday Adaji the case was reported at the `A’ Division Police Station on Jan. 2 by Ifangi Alade of Aso `A’ Mararaba.
Areji had assisted Alade, the taxi driver to load passengers into his vehicle. After which he was given N40 by Alade but he refused, asking for an additional N10. He then started fighting the driver, biting off his lower lips in the process. He was later arrested by the police.
At the hearing, the accused pleaded not guilty.
The presiding judge, Mr Albrert Mada, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100, 000 and a surety in like sum and adjourned the case to Jan. 30 for further hearing. Culled
