Be grateful!

I was going through a friend's facebook album yesterday when I came across one that had 10 of us (8 ladies and 2 guys) in one of her pictures when we served back then in 2006 in Zamfara state. Everyone but one person is married. I have gotten 8 invites from all but 1 person (though I guess she should be married by now too) and also how God has blessed their homes with children...and then it hit me that I am still single and I don't have any child yet...and ...and...and...hmph!
Not up to 10 minutes after I had so many thoughts bombarding me left, right and center, a message came from my cousin like she knew what my thoughts were at that point in time. Read below...

"My mates are getting married.
My mates are getting good jobs.
My mates are succeeding.
My mates are living overseas.
My mates are buying cars.
My mates are building houses.
My mates are this......my mates are that......
It's a pity you literally forgot about your mates in the mortuary, your
mates in the psychiatric homes, your mates are roaming the streets, your mates are jobless, hungry, blind, deaf..........

You might not be where you wish to be but you have obviously
transcended from where you were yesterday.

Be thankful!

Do you know:  Only 56  days left and we say bye bye to 2013?  Some slept yesterday and didn't wake up today?  We're sinners but God showed mercy?  God still has plans for you before the year ends?  Some mates are there in jail without committing any crime?  You ate last night but some didn't or couldn't? You have work and sources for daily living while some have nothing to look up to? You are not alive because you are faithful or because you have never sinned before but it is the MERCY of God that has kept you alive. INDEED God loves u. Can you just appreciate God by sending this message to your loved ones as A Big 'THANK YOU Lord."

Indeed I know that there is a God somewhere who knows my name and who knows my every thought. After reading this, I just couldn't but help to appreciate him more for being there for me. This is not to say I am not a happy person...of course I am but as human beings we tend to reflect on things for so long that could make us want to get bitter for no just cause when we could actually count our blessings and name them one by one.

I also want to say a big thank you to my wonderful cousin who allowed herself to be used by God. Afterall, she could have just seen the message and ignored it without sharing it with the next person(s) she thought of.

In a nutshell, when a kind hearted word drops in your mind, don't hesitate to share it with others, you could be saving a soul by doing that.

Stay blessed and have a wonderful day ahead.
Muah!
